The grape harvest in Croatia has ended and a few members of our team got a chance, as every year, to be in vineyards for harvesting. As huge wine lovers in upcoming months, we’ll present to you famous Croatian wine regions. More than 130 authentic grape varieties in Croatia exist, so every wine lover can find something for their taste.

One of the best-known wine region on the south of the Dalmatian coast is Peljesac peninsula – the homeland of the Plavac Mali, Dingač, and Postup wines.

The well-known winery our clients visit on their journey through Peljesac is Milos winery famous for producing premium wines for several generations and their production is based on the autochthonous variety Plavac Mali.

Milos family has 15 hectares of vineyards in the peninsula’s best locations, on steep slopes from the Prapratno Bay to the village Ponikve. They are recognizable by hand cultivation of vineyards and organic production.

On this amazing Peljesac experience, you will have a chance to visit the famous wine cellar of the Milos family, try several premium wines with small local “bites” like prosciutto, cheese, olives, and their homemade extra virgin olive oil.

While on the peninsula, you definitely do not want to miss the opportunity to visit Ston, a small town known for the longest city walls in Europe connected to Mali Ston, a famous Bay known for its shellfish, especially oysters and mussels. It should certainly be mentioned that “Malostonska kamenica” is the first seafood product that receives a protected mark of origin. With this, “Malostonska kamenica” became this week the first protected seashell in the EU.

What this place makes a real gourmet’s haven is a boat ride to the oyster farm and tasting this natural aphrodisiac straight from the sea, with a glass of fine Peljesac wine, which all our clients rave about. Location is an unavoidable destination for all true seafood lovers!

Who can resist this amazing blend of culture, gastronomy and a glass of fine wine? We certainly can’t resist, so every year, we return to this beautiful peninsula and look forward to a new harvest with other great Peljesac winemakers.
